MacBook Air Sickness Weighs On Early Adopters

Macbook_air_sick

SAN JOSE, CA
- From the moment Steve Jobs announced the arrival of MacBook Air at MacWorld on January, 15th critics, pundits and whiskey hoisting bar hounds alike have all lined up to offer their insight on Apple's latest thinnovation. Before the MacBook Air had even reached the hands of Macs beloved early adopters, naysayers began ruthlessly slicing up Air's unique features like a gang of twisted circus monkeys with a set of steak knives. Each convinced that Apple had somehow overlooked a crucial step in their design. Wired is only the latest in that pedigree to take swipes at the "thin one" in a post entitled "MacBook Air Released with Slew of Problems" highlighting the findings of Macworld's Jim Dalrymple. A post that Wired should have more accurately aimed at the brilliant OLPC.

Apple Offers MacBook Air Flight Instructions

Macbook_air_documents_2 Now that MacBook Air devices are starting to ship to anxious fanboys, Apple has posted an entire MacBook Air support page specifically aimed at early adopters. Articles include tips for managing Air's Migration Assistant, a Remote Disk set-up guide for both Mac and PC and trackpad tips and tricks. Some of the content will be obvious for seasoned Mac users but with so many new converts coming over from the PC ghetto, it's best that Apple keep all things equal when dolling out knowledge.

Some of the migration assistant tips comically sound like an excerpt from the "Joy of Sex" manual; "Avoid letting your source computer go to sleep while you are attempting to migrate." That would be my advice as well. Being the first kid on the block with Apple's new thinnovation will give you license to act like an arrogant Air-hole. Now that's woth $1,800 in any country.

Apple Store Unveils Ultrathin Personal Trainers

Macbook_air_trainers_3

Apple stores have revamped display windows to introduce their MacBook Air ultrathin personal trainer service. Depicted as life-size cardboard cutouts, the "world's thinnest personal trainers" will be deployed at most retail locations to support early adopters. Displays were modified only recently to ensure that customers were not tipped off to Apple's thinnest notebook to date before Macworld.

Personal trainers will provide instruction on the value of elegance and innovation, as well as offering extensive survival tips for functioning with the lack of a firewire port, optical drive or swappable battery. "I've spent time with a few of the ultrathin trainers, said Apple Store manager Tim Mils "They're stunningly beautiful. It's impossible to convey in words how pleasing and thin they really are, that's why I have it all on video." Mils intends to shop his video to tech websites as an exclusive.

Employment hopefuls must pass a twiggy-thin weight requirement and submit to random body fat testing in order to qualify. A commemorative Apple manila folder will be awarded to guests who preview MacBook Air with one of the world's thinnest personal trainers on launch weekend. Are you ready for thinnovation?

Jailbroken iPhone 1.1.3 Captured Near Chicago

Breaking Report by Fay Stoker
Best_buy_iphone_3 Reports are coming in from Cook County, Illinois where Sheriff's Deputy Michael DeBartolo issued a statement confirming that jailbroken iPhone, prisoner 1.1.3, has been captured in south county. iPhone was discovered just after 4 PM central time today, hiding out in the restroom of a Best Buy Store in possession of multiple Sim cards, stolen 3rd party apps, cash and automatic weapons. The prisoner was placed on silent and taken into custody without any struggle. iPhone was quickly re-virginized by Cook County officials and held until he could be transported back to prison.

"This is not the first time iPhone has been party to a successful jailbreak," said Sheriff Elam Nikserof, "We thought we had him amply secured after the first two breaks, but my guess is that he's not working alone. We suspect a highly organized team of clever individuals working together."

MacBook Air Shipping On February 6th

Macbook_air_ship_date_4 Thanks to an order acknowledgment email from our rabid reader Ryan Phillips, we were able to get an update on the MacBook Air ship date. Everyone wants to know when the world's thinnest notebook will arrive into the hands of Mac faithful. Ryan selected two day air shipping and ordered his device on January 15th. Apple told Ryan he can expect his shipment to go out on February 6th with delivery on the 8th though marked the 11th, which is the next business day. UPDATE: We were just told that Ryan's MacBook Air shipped today January 30th and will arrive on Friday, February 1st confirming reports claiming the same. [Engadget ]

When you pre-order a MacBook Air online you will not receive a ship date confirmation on your ultra-thin notebook until close to the final purchase order screen. The Apple online store staff are still vague about exactly when you can expect arrival of your MacBook Air purchase. The Apple Store is now saying "a couple of days" for in store arrivals.

"Do You Know Anyone Who Owns A Zune?"

  Special Report by Wade Spumen

  "Zunebadass" 80 GB Black Zune

It did not take the Zune army long to mobilize it's members against Steve Jobs who took a sarcastic swipe at the Microsoft Zune community in a high profile CNBC interview last week with Jim Goldman. The interview took place immediately after Jobs concluded his Macworld keynote address while he was still floating from the ether of Apple's MacBook Air. Even though Jobs' remarks about Zune were only a tiny blip on the radar of an otherwise typical Macworld recap, Zune fanatics are bent on serving up fresh baked humble pie to El Jobso.

"Hit Me On My iPhone" Bound For Number One

"It's not often that an instant classic gets dropped into pop culture like this bad boy," said Simon Cowell, "I smell number one, if it's not number one, then I'm not sure what I'm smelling. Maybe it's number two".

This fresh iPhone jam is a Pete Miser joint; "I'm not the type to get all mushy about a piece of technology but it done changed my life." Pete Miser

The fact that the music video is already complete makes this one MTV ready. Look out Vanilla Ice, here comes "Hit Me On My iPhone", Apple certified Hip Hop with a bullet, headed for the top of the charts. Too legit to quit!
