A member of the elite iPhone hacking Dev Team, developers of the infamous iPhone Pwnage Tool (the first “Jailbreak” for the 3G iPhone) is strongly advising iPhone 3G owners against employing the hardware-based SIMable option, used by some to remove carrier restrictions.
The SIMable hardware method creates fake identifiers said to "leak" into cellular networks, generating errors. As stated by the Dev Team coder who went on to clarify his position in a MacNN post.
"While a hack could in theory work under this scheme, the errors are recorded by telecom companies, and may be considered tampering in a company's network. In countries like Germany, as a result, a person could allegedly face up to three years in prison, and in the US, it may fall under legislation designed to combat terrorism."
Your witnessing iPhone history when one of the premiere iPhone hack masters advises the world to avoid iPhone hacks found lower on the hacker stooges food chain. Now that's brilliant humor!

This SIM is CRAP! Didn't work more than two hour on my iPhone 3G. The worst sim card ever! I have rebel sim and this one took more than one day to lose signal.
