AUSTRALIA - A report by Asher Moses writing for The Sydney Morning Herald confirms that Optus, the second largest telecommunications company in Australia, is offering "goodwill credits" to iPhone 3G customers suffering reception problems and slow data speeds. A stop gap effort just ahead of reports indicating Apple has a software fix on the way.
"Adam Wells, an Optus iPhone customer from Frenchs Forest, was so fed up with the poor reception and slow speeds he called Optus and demanded a refund because Optus was not providing an adequate service." Source - SMH
"Optus users should be going to Optus and seeking some sort of compensation." Wells said to The Sydney Morning Herald.
The pressure is mounting on Apple to break their silence by offering the cult of iPhone faithful an official statement on the alleged iPhone 3G issues. Reports indicate Mac forums are spilling over with chatter from users experiencing dropped calls and choppy Web surfing on iPhone 3G.
As more iPhone customers start applying their Kung Fu grip on telecom carriers around the globe to hand over" good faith credits" for poor data performance on iPhone 3G, it will become painfully obvious that an 'iPocalypse' of a different kind is in effect for Apple.
