If your all about playing the Mac fantasy game, then dreaming out loud about a fresh take on the Mac Mini is absolutely within reach. This Mac Mini concept by 17 year old Victor Anselme imagines a Mini footprint 30% smaller than Apple's current design. This one includes an Intel C2D 2.2Ghz processor, 2GB RAM, a Superdrive and a 144 Graphic Card.
The HD Cinema display contains 4 USB and Firewire ports with the inclusion of multi-touch screen and bluetooth keyboard with numeric pad. The screen is a 22" OLED with Full HD resolution with built in iSight camera, speakers and microphone. Double tap the Apple logo to power up and down. This one is less about rumor and more about the power of pure desire.
What I loved immediately about Victor's design was his attention to detail in creating delicious eye candy for the Mac appetite but not skimping on the essentials. I will admit that I'm a tad stuffed from consuming too many fast food "Brick" rumors and not enough substance. October 14th will reveal exactly what Apple has in mind with it's MacBook refresh that may include Mac Mini and Apple TV morphed into one. Until then, I've saved a little room for desert, as long as it's only wafer thin. When can you ship me my set Victor?

Since the current Mini is just wide enough to allow for a CD/DVD drive, wouldn't this 30% smaller footprint mean that all CDs and DVDs would have to also be 30% smaller in size?

why would you have a bluetooth keyboard and not have a bluetooth mouse? seems like a missed detail.

I love the display. I'll take a 30" version :)
I have absolutely no interest in an even smaller Mini, the existing one is too small.
I firmly believe the entry level Mac market would have been much better served if the mini was big enough to use the same (or very similar) motherboard found in the MacBook. Motherboard production costs for the mini would be cut dramatically if it was the same board found in their best selling model. If the case was the same height as the one currently used for the mini there would be plenty of room for a 3.5" HD and internal power supply instead of that ridiculous external brick.
I still don't understand why Apple went with such a tiny box when they could have sold a better computer at a lower price, held or even increased margins and sold far more of them. I estimate that had the mini been designed as I described, it would have sold 3 times the number that the real mini has.
