When I spotted this Beatles iPod ad I could not contain my excitement. Roughly translated, the Spanish language caption on the post reads; "Back cover for the magazine of the project" which hints at the possibility of Apple's imminent release of The Beatles collection. Could this be an Apple print ad for Mexico?
Upon closer inspection one thing that jumped out was the copyright displaying Apple Computer, Inc. Apple dropped the "computer" moniker from their name in early 2007. The thought of this advert being something more than fan art may be blind optimism. But I so want to believe, especially since The Beatles recently inked a deal for their music to be used in the "Rock Band" video game.
My attempts to confirm the work via email failed, leaving only speculation to fill the void. That said, seeing the Abbey Road silhouette of The Beatles carrying iPods was still epic enough to crank up my wishful thinking machine all over again. I'm hoping Apple will officially announce a date for The Fab Four's debut on iTunes sooner than later. It's been a long and winding road. Come on Apple... don't let me down!

Or it could also be that Apple is still listed as Apple Computer, Inc in other parts of the world. Just because they changed their name/branding here in the US, doesn't mean it automatically changes all over the world.

There may be a good reason for the "Apple Computer" verbiage. Surely you're aware of the long-running trademark dispute between Apple and Apple Records, the company that owns much of the Beatle backlist. The case was settled with the understanding that Apple would stay out of the music business, at least to the extent of owning music copyrights. So, assuming there is some deal between Apple and Apple Records for this project, it may be that Apple Records requested the unambiguous copyright language.
