President-elect Barack Obama confirmed to CNN on Friday that he thinks he may be able to “hang onto” his beloved BlackBerry after all. Obama told CNN’s John King that unlike his predecessor, he's holding out tremendous optimism that he may be able to maintain using e-mail after he enters the Oval Office.

I fully appreciate the President-elect's statement, “I think we're going to be able to beat this back," adding the perfect amount of Obama drama to this issue. He paints this dilemma like it's a life or death struggle. Cult of iPhone faithful understand that kind of fanatic devotion all too well. I expect to be buried with my iPhone when that day finally comes. Posner Advertising jumped into the battle, creating several satirical BlackBerry sympathy ads supporting Obama's right to fight for his smartphone of choice.

Obama might consider lifting a few lines from Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech when he takes the stage on Inauguration Day. Slipping in an inspirational plea for his precious CrackBerry witnessed by millions of Obama-bots just might seal the deal. Barry's fantastical plea might sound something like this:
"I have a dream that one
day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of Blackberry freedom. We
hold these truths to be self-evident: that all forms of instant communication are not created equal."
It could work.
