President Obama is expected to sign a bill by Congress that would stay the execution of analog TV until June 12. By a vote of 264 to 158, the House passed a a digital transition 'FAIL bill' by the Senate today that would extend the life of painfully outdated analog television for an estimated 6.5 million homes. Putting off DTV for another four months. The original kill date was scheduled for February 17.
Anyone paying hostage prices for cable or satellite TV service will be unaffected by the date change. Unless you choose to rip out your digital TV box and voluntarily return to using TV rabbit ears just to prove you're not better than anyone else.
But that's not you, is it? Otherwise you would have remained victimized by your Crackberry or Motorola Razor and never joined the cult of iPhone in the first place. You're a certified technology bad ass and you're not afraid to flaunt it. The same goes double for myself. I pay AT&T a hefty $151 a month for the distinct priviledge of holding up my iPhone like it's my middle finger just to say; "Hey world, look at me! I think different!" How much is that worth?
Give me DTV or give me death! Yeah, that's what I'm sayin'.
