If you pre-ordered your iPhone 3G S through AT&T by Friday, June 12th it's possible you've slipped in under an invisible drop dead date for a June 19th delivery. When attempting to pre-order an iPhone 3G S on Saturday, June 13th, AT&T has now posted an epic fail message informing customers of a 7 to 14 day shipping time line after your order is placed. AT&T pre-orders are sold out!

placed. Orders will be shipped on a first-come, first-served basis." Source: Att.com
AT&T is only guaranteeing that pre-orders placed by Friday, June 12th are expected to arrive on time for the 7:00 AM chain-wide iPhone 3G S store launch on June 19th. Customers will receive an email notification when their 3G S has arrived and is ready for pick-up.
According to one source, "AT&T’s pre-order stock is depleted", leaving only iPhone 3G S devices for the die hard line-sitters expecting to purchase their phone at store locations on the official Friday launch day. Many cult of iPhone fanatics we spoke to have already pre-ordered their new handsets, making this news less painful. Though many will be caught off guard by only the latest hunk of bad news coming from AT&T who appears be be making a sport out of disappointing its iPhone customers of late. The bad news began when Apple announced that MMS and Tethering features included in iPhone OS 3.0 will not be immediately supported by AT&T for US customers at launch.
There are some reports surfacing that Apple is also pre-warning customers with a similar fail message delivered via email, stating that those who ordered their iPhone 3GS after June 12th will receive it sometime after June 21st. Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark.
The Apple email reports are still unconfirmed.

How is this an epic fail? Did you expect either company to have more than enough iPhone 3Gs' to go around for everyone who could possibly want one? The last two phones showed this not to be true. To not have millions of units pre-produced is just common sense business, not a failure. Rather, the fact that someone took a week to make the decision to buy an iPhone 3Gs is a failure on their part, not AT&T or Apple's.
Apparently the Wii has been an epic fail of monumental proportions for the entire first year it was released, and then some.
Right now, my new 32 gig iPhone 3Gs' status has changed to "Preparing for shipment"

We plan on going to an Apple store to get ours. It's easier
and get to witness all the buzz.
