ROSEVILLE, CA - When Lee and Mandy finally made it up to the front of the line waiting to rush the doorway at the grand opening of the new Apple store at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville, they quickly transformed the Saturday morning worship service into an epic display of Mac-tastic love.
Lee Herbet, originally hails from Auckland, New Zealand while his girlfriend Mandy is an Aussie girl living in Toronto, Canada. The couple, who've been together for only six short weeks were in town to attend Apple's World Wide Developers Conference set to begin on Monday. Being in San Francisco a few days early, Lee seized the moment to attend the opening of the new Apple store with a grand marriage proposal scheme in mind for Mandy, intending to make hundreds of Apple fanatics his unsuspecting witnesses.
It was Steve Shearer, who found himself standing right in front of the soon to be engaged couple in line. As Steve and his friend Jon Bryant reached the front of the queue, Lee Herbet turned to them and broke the big news.
"Hey guys, she doesn't know this is coming," Lee said as he revealed the ring box he was holding close to his chest, "But look what I'm gonna give her," Shearer told the iPhone Savior recalling his encounter with Herbet.
In a flash Lee was proposing to Mandy, she immediately said yes and the crowd went wild according to Shearer who used his iPhone to capture a few candid photos of the proposal. The couple were ushered into the Roseville location through a sea of Apple staffers who wasted no time wishing them both the best of luck. Well, at least one blue shirt did.
The big engagement took place at 10:35 am, but the memory of this epic adventure will last a lifetime for at least two Mac faithful going to the Apple of love. Congratulations Lee and Mandy! Maybe Steve Jobs will give you both a little something special with a faster processor, a compass, 32GB and video editing. Look for him on Monday!

They are going to make a mint on that thing. At least four people in my office (myself included) can't wait to get their hands on one.
