The iPhone ultra-nerds at Smule, developers of the wildly popular "I Am T-Pain" auto-tune app, are launching a user video competition behind the release of "I'm On A Boat", a legendary white boy duet performed by T-Pain and The Lonley Island. Since the launch of "I Am T-Pain" for iPhone, "I'm On A Boat" has become the most requested song by avid users of the breakthrough sing-along app.
Smule is offering the top ten finalists of their “I’m On a Boat” contest $500 dollars in cash and a set of poser grillz. Now anyone can be just like T-Pain. Wannabe rappers and broke-ass singers should submit their video performances on YouTube. Simply capture yourself performing “I’m On a Boat” using Smule’s I Am T-Pain app, then upload it to Youtube. One grand prize winner will take away $5,000 and a Big Ass Chain from T-Pain. The big boss winner will be announced on December 15th.
It will facinating to see how Smule pulls off this contest knowing that "I'm On a Boat" is masterfully layered with mother F-bombs throughout. The clean version is a hysterical comedy of awful bleeps. Good luck with that one fellas!
The epic I Am T-Pain app which had over 300,000 downloads in the first three weeks at $2.99, will be offered at the reduced rate of ($.99) from Thursday, October 1st until Saturday, October 3rd, at 11:59 PDT. So get your app on and then get your rap on sooner than later man! (music video after break)
