SEATTLE, WA - The newest Apple Store window display features an iPhone on the right surrounded by chains of hanging app icons and a tidy grouping of staff cutouts on the left, promoting Apple workshops, personal training and free technical support.
The blue shirts pictured on the window stiffs neatly match those currently worn by every employee, making the perfect camouflage for any worker bee desperate to sneak in a few extra minutes of break time.
When I approached one Apple specialist just before closing time, I commented about the stand-up staffers in the window, observing that they appeared to be more like generic placeholders for something else yet to come. There was an obvious awkward silence before the specialist said;
"Uh, these are both brand new displays." quickly drawing my attention to the massive amount of cardboard app icons framing the iPhone on the right. Hmm.
While the iPhone display side clearly looks like a tremendous amount of work to hang in place, the smiling parade of Apple store clones are mounted on removable metal stands that can easily be hauled off when the iSlate tablet display arrives on January 27th for Apple's launch.
There. I said it. By the way... one of those stiffs is not like the others. The truth is out there. I want to believe.

"By the way... one of those stiffs is not like the others."
You can tell from the slack in the badge lanyard.
