Here's a fantastical free iPhone app focused on one ginormous purpose, to help save your life when choking. I Am Choking alerts friends and strangers to the fact that you are in very present danger.
Once you realize that piece of Filet Mignon is lodged in your throat, simply launch the I Am Choking app and hold it up for others to see. An obvious flashing message and annoying voice will instantly signal "HELP I Am Choking". Bystanders would have to be deaf, dumb or blind to miss your impressive cry for help.
The app will guide unwitting rescuers in the steps for delivering the proper Heimlich Maneuver, aimed at dislodging that hunk of dead animal flesh from your throat. I think rather improbable that someone who swallowed some food and had troubles would have time to find the iPhone. But if this post helps people to find more about what to do in such case, then it certainly helps.
