A sketchy 32 GB white iPhone 4 has been put up for sale on Twitter through a makeshift account iphone4whitehk used to lure buyers. The question of authenticity still remains uncertain since do-it-yourself parts used to convert a black iPhone 4 to white can be easily found around China.
Apple's photos of the device are consistent with the model put on display except for the silver lining around the flash on the rear of the phone as revealed by 9 to 5 Mac. The seller allegedly smuggled the white iPhone 4 out of a China factory using an iPhone 4 box intended for the black model, according to MicGadget.com
"Somebody at a China factory deliberately brought the newly made white iPhone 4 to Hong Kong, by packing into a black iPhone 4 box and let the securities to think it’s just a dull black iPhone 4." - Chris Chang wrote for M.I.C. Gadget.
A price for the rogue device was still not disclosed at the time of this post. Which may not matter much since the leaked white iPhone 4 generating so much buzz is more than likely a fake using DIY parts to draw a big cash bounty.
Apple's official white iPhone 4 release is expected later this year.
