Special Report by Ian Fawling
SEATTLE, WA - Tim Joyson was astonished when he read a post by blogger David Sieger at "Eye On Apple" reporting on insider information Sieger gained from an informant at Apple supposedly revealing future plans for the iPhone. Joyson had recently made several well thought out predictions himself about iPhone's future in a conversation with longtime co-worker Dale Strep at their weekly watering hole, The Pike Pub and Brewery earlier this week. Those predictions turned out to be spot on.
"Tim is amazing! He has such a nose for anything Apple," said Strep "He totally raged about three iPhone versions next year, from low-end to high-end and nailed it when he said the 8 gig iPhone would be the middle version. That was right before we ordered another round of black and tans, I do remember that much. I'm so impressed with Tim, he's really good."
Joyson is seriously considering authoring his own Mac centric blog, posting his unique iPhone insights, covering news and drawing on his vast knowledge of Apple products. He firmly believes the world wide web is ready for someone with his skills. "I was blown away when I saw David Sieger being quoted on Mac Daily News of all places. That was so tight!" Joyson was aware that the Mac Daily News post was presented as rumor, but was still thrilled that the rumor perfectly matched his own random speculations that Apple plans to extend the iPhone lineup to 3 models and the low-end iPhone will not be touch based. The fact that Sieger's post was picked up by such a respectable news source confirmed Joyson's strong belief that true Mac fans want any kind of Apple news, even if it's not based on fact.
"How often can you riff on stuff over beers and then see it a few days later all over the internet? That totally confirms that I've got some psychic thing going on." Joyson explained that the more he drank, the clearer his thoughts became as he spoke to the future of the iPhone. "I live and breathe my iPhone, the news, the rumors and all of this Apple stuff, I flow like that, it's my thing man!" Joyson was glad that he had Dale Strep to confirm the authenticity of his predictions when contacting several iPhone websites, realizing that no one would have believed his story otherwise. He went on to confidently guess that version two of the iPhone will be released before summer of 2008 and that iPhone V2 will include Apple's newly patented 'force detector' technology on the touch screen, video capture, GPS and bump up to a 16GB model.
It's hard to say if Joyson will actually launch his own Mac blog in the distant future. One thing is certain though, there is plenty of room for his formidable talents when it comes to reporting real Apple news and predicting future news stories. Psychic or not, Tim Joyson is a committed Apple fanatic that may one day find his own iPhone rumors featured on the front page of Engadget or even Mac Daily News. The likelihood of that becoming a reality is far too difficult for anyone to predict.
