If you plan on trolling Macworld this year, there are five essential must have's you will need in order to not feel like a small fish in an enormous pond. Macworld 2008 has about 10,000 more attendees than last year, so any slight advantage will put you miles ahead of the newbies. You can count on a plethora of noobs and drooling swag whores!
The first must have item beyond your attendee badge is obviously a freakin' iPhone broseph. Please tell me you have one! Do not miss a single moment of connectivity to the online hype while you're on the expo floor with your head spinning like Linda Blair in the Exorcist. Your iPhone will help ground you to the virtual reality you know too well while you shuffle along in a daze gawking at famous people.
The second item is the iPhone optimized website iZami, designed to guide you through the maze of exhibits at the Moscone Center. You'll find relevant maps, exhibitors sorted by name and aisle plus instant access to message boards and ratings by other iZami users in attendance. You can ad your own messages and ratings of exhibits as well. iZami also provides a local search for restaurants, hotels and supermarkets for those late night beer runs. Locations are sorted by street name to make finding stuff a snap. Click on a street and up comes the locations. iZami is so much cooler than that fold-out paper map shoved into your back pocket.
The third must have is a Mobile Safari bookmark to BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) for point-to-point travel planning, real-time arrival times and advisories including an interactive map. It may sound like overkill now, but it will be a lifesaver when you are slumped over with you're crotch chaffing at the end of the day, irritated from following the huddled masses. How about closest Starbucks?
No Macworld trip would be complete without some custom, old school, Macworld iPhone wallpapers including Steve Jobs & Woz for total pwnage. There are even a few Jobs only wallpapers for maximum worship. Enjoy the spectacle but don't forget to keep hydrated, wear plenty of Apple flair and use baby powder on your high friction parts to prevent chaffing. (wallpapers)
