SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - Apple cult propaganda went into full effect on the corner of King & George Street in Sydney, Australia with a banner heralding the arrival of the first official Apple Store in the southern hemisphere. Committed Apple followers or "boofheads" as they're affectionately called in Australia are hoping that the huge banner signals a store opening may only be a month away as speculation is running wild.
The Apple banner features an iPod Nano wave that boofheads have interpreted as the possibility of free Nano giveaways for the grand opening. There's also speculation that the cryptic "drop in" message is Apple's way of hinting at the store design being multi-levels downward, similar to their 5th Avenue Flagship location in Manhattan. Rumors suggest that the 3G iPhone will be displayed on a floor down under within one of the store's lower lairs. More to follow on this dinki-di mystery for Aussies.
