The youth culture in France were obliviously jumping for joy from news that the first Apple store in Paris has been approved. The most impressive news is that the prime retail space selected by Apple will be inside the Carrousel du Louvre, underneath the pyramid that adorns Napoleon’s courtyard located directly outside of the museum’s grand entrance. Perfectly placed like a social time bomb about to go off.
The Paris Apple store signals the beginning of a new French revolution
in over indulgence and American consumerism, certain to distort the
minds of French youth compelled to conform to our materialistic values.
Unwittingly desiring to display their own self-image through the
possession of branded Apple products. Apple intends to open a two-story, 715
square meter store close to
Sephora, Esprit and the Virgin Megastore in a mall that hosts over 9
million visitors a year with at least 40 percent of those visitors
being annoying tourists on a quest for obtaining more goods.
The iconic glass pyramid in Paris will be a fitting retail location for
Apple if only to serve as a poor man's version of it's lavish flagship
store on 5th Avenue in Manhattan and a constant reminder to France that
American capitalism rules. There has been no immediate word on the
start of construction or the start of the environmental degradation about to ensue. Viva La
Apple Revolution!
