SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Word has hit the street through various sources that Apple's highly anticipated third-party App Store for iPhone will be up and running once Steve Jobs mounts the stage at the WWDC on Monday. The iPhone 2.0 software is expected to be functional for current iPhone owners as well as the infamous 3G version. With GPS and faster network speeds we can expect to see an entire host of slick location-aware applications for the beloved iPhone. The announcement by Jobs would deliver the iPhone Application Store ahead of schedule by three weeks. Reports are conflicting on a Monday release date.
"The era of officially sanctioned iPhone applications should kick off on Monday. The App Store is going to be the only way to get official third-party iPhone applications onto your device." Source - CNET
In addition, the wildly popular iPhone Atlas blog is reporting that Apple appears to be hurrying to accept applied individuals into their exclusive $99 iPhone Developer Program prior to the (WWDC) in San Francisco next week - especially true for developers who will be attending the conference. Expect to spot entire packs of shaved apes mingling with the hairy variety on the conference floor. Pink-ass baboons should expect to hang with their own kind for obvious reasons.
