Apple's new $15 million Sydney location is confirmed to open for business on Thursday, June 19, at 5pm according to Ron Johnson, head of Apple's retail division as stated in an exclusive interview with the Sydney Morning Herald. The SMH is giving fair warning to all Aussies about hard core Apple disciples bent on grabbing their free grand opening T-shirt. Duh! They failed to mention that Steve Jobs will be showing up all stealthy like to sign some of those t-shirts.
"If you want to ensure you get in early, you might consider camping
out overnight. It's not a stunt. There are hardcore Apple fans who will
do this; their only reward, a free T-shirt if they happen to be among
the first 2500 customers through the door. Disciples like these have
been doing it for several years with the opening of each of the new
flagship Apple stores around the world." Sydney Morning Herald
It's confirmed that iPhone 3G will not be making it's grand entrance at
this major Apple store event heralding their first flagship location in
the southern hemisphere. Can you look but not purchase? The answer may be in that "Do Not Open" until June 10th box. Could that be a mister 3G sample for Sydney? Stores are saying July 11th for iPhone 3G displays. Hmm, that's odd.
I found the entire article very telling with the Herald using words like cult, calling the Apple store a temple and Steve Jobs it's high priest. They are definitely preaching the Apple religion after guzzling down their fair share of the finest spiked kool-aid money can buy. Drink up Aussies, your Mac attack is about to begin with a healthy dose of cult-like reality. In the immortal words of Destiny's Child, "I don't think your ready for this jelly!"
Latest rumor: "Is Steve going to announce a phone that helps small businesses to Grow Smart?"
