iPhone Display Trumps Sexy Mannequins To Win Retail Window Design Award

CINCINNATI, OHIO - Apple was unanimously awarded the highly coveted "Most Stared At Window Display" award at the third annual "Retail Window Design Awards" held on Saturday by the National Association of Retail Window Display Designers at the prestigious Aronoff Center for the Arts in downtown Cincinnati.

Apples innovative iPhone 3G window display trumped dozens of entries this year by grabbing over seventy five percent of the votes and winning the hearts of judges in what one organizer is calling "a gargantuan triumph over mannequin breasts". The award is the associations equivalent of the Oscar for 'Best Picture of The Year', traditionally bringing the gala ceremony to a close.

Black MacBook Pro Concept Makes Me Lust After The Dark Side

Earlier this week I raved about the slick iPod nano mock-up I discovered by designer Miguel Suárez, causing an instant puddle of drool for a multitude of Mac heads. I believe Miguel has done it again dreaming out loud with his MacBook Pro concept design only weeks before Apple unveils its official laptop refresh.

Miguel's mock-up borrows design cues from Apple's ultra-thin Macbook Air with the addition of a coveted front loading superdrive and glass multi-touch trackpad. The black aluminum interior finish delivers an epic flair to his clamshell styling and perfectly rounded corners. The mock-up hints at an aluminum exterior housing with a jet black interior. I like it!

Though this MacBook Pro vision does not drift too far from the Air's aesthetic, it still makes me want to get up close and personal for some heavy petting. I've never been a huge fan of black Mac products until iPhone 3G, now I'm hooked. Miguel makes it easy to lust after the dark side with his well thought out Mac designs. Once you go black...

Is iPhone Pink In China's Future?

Rumors have begun to bubble under that iPhone Pink discussions are currently under way in China. The alleged special edition Pink iPhone is in response to a female FoxConn factory worker's recent meteoric rise to internet micro-celebrity after her photos appeared on MacRumors.

The young woman dubbed "iPhone Girl" by obsessed media stumbled upon her fifteen minutes of fame when an iPhone owner in Britain posted photos on the MacRumors website claiming he discovered her picture accidentally left on the home screen of his new iPhone 3G direct from the FoxConn factory. The mysterious woman was pictured dressed in a pink striped factory uniform, complete with matching pink cap.

A pink iPhone in China could spark the kind of fanatical demand that would motivate China telecom to strike an iPhone agreement with Apple that until now has been tangled in failed negotiations. A special edition 'iPhone Girl' pink Chi-Phone could potentially create frenzied hysteria among youth in China especially since "iPhone Girl" has become a national icon, adored by bloggers and a virtual darling in the Chinese media.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that iPhone Pink will launch with new iPhone Girl photos in the camera roll along with two of the original shots responsible for rocketing the FoxComm factory worker to internet stardom. The young woman has not yet been identified by Chinese media who have become desperate to gain her story first hand. Is pink the new red?

Fatal Error! Steve Jobs Gets Killed In The Press

Steve Jobs is dead? The news that Steve Jobs experienced a fatal error came charging across the Bloomberg financial newswire on Wednesday afternoon in the form of a 17-page obituary published by mistake. The accidental obit was spotted by an eagle-eyed tipster who's waited decades for his moment to shine.

As the obituary crossed the Bloomberg wire and then suddenly disappeared again, hundreds of Apple shareholders may have had their own brush with death after eyeballing the story. The timing of the obit was freakishly macabre since the recent controversy over reports of Apple's CEO's secret battle with pancreatic cancer.

The best news is that Steve Jobs is alive and well, filling any open handicap parking spot he can find at One Infinite Loop. I'm sure some ultra-noob at Bloomberg was handed the customary ass hat to proudly wear for the rest of the year.

Bloomberg immediately retracted the obituary, releasing this statement; "An incomplete story referencing Apple Inc. was inadvertently published by Bloomberg News at 4:27 p.m. New York time today. The item was never meant for publication and has been retracted."

iPhone Girl's Identity Sought By China's Human Flesh Search Engine

Have you seen her? "iPhone Girl", the now infamous Chinese iPhone factory worker is being hunted down by China's "human flesh search engine", a virtual mob in hot pursuit of FoxConn's unofficial micro-celebrity. iPhone Girl burst onto the scene when an iPhone owner in Britain posted photos on the MacRumors website with claims he discovered her picture accidentally left on the home screen of his new iPhone 3G direct from the FoxConn factory.

Within hours after her photo hit MacRumors "iPhone Girl" became an internet sensation. Setting in motion a frenzy of media interest that has been rapidly building into a pop culture Tsunami of sorts. Chinese internet users are now determined to reveal the young girl's identity in order to gain her story first hand. Throngs of obsessed followers are desperate to hear from their "Little China doll" turned internet icon.

Tetris Clone 'Tris' Joins Elite Few In iPhone App Graveyard

The cult of iPhone is grieving loudly today over the loss of Tris 1.0 from the App Store. Tris was an epic free Tetris clone created by developer Noah Witherspoon. This sad day marks the start of a long dirt nap for Tris joining "NetShare", Nulriver's popular iPhone tethering app and "I Am Rich" the controversial $1,000  "look at me I'm rich biotch" app that essentially did nothing. "I Am Rich" is as useful dead as it was alive. Not so with Tris.

Amongst the 'Three Stooges' of app casualties, Tris was definitely "Curly", the most fun and endearing of the crew. Tris is an epic app because it rocked hard like the original, except it was free. I played Tris long enough to understand it's lure, it's inner beauty and it's freeness. Thousands of iPhone owners across the globe will never really comprehend the genuine jewel that was here in our midst. We're left with some lame Tic Tac Toe game for $.99 which I only bought because I was depressed. It made me even more depressed.

"I don't think this will be permanent; when I have the time and can find a good copyright lawyer, I'll be figuring out exactly what my position is and how I can make Tris available again." said developer Noah Witherspoon.

That's denial talking Noah, but this too shall pass. I suggest you let it go bro, and begin your healing. For those of us left with the brilliant memory of Tris on our iPhones, I encourage you to pour out an iPint or two for Noah Witherspoon and our fallen homie. Offer up a brief ringtone length of silence in honor of a true iPhone hero. Tris will be missed.

Amazing iPod Nano Mock-Up Gives Me Happy Gas

It's one thing to view some colorless, ghetto photo of what may be Apple's new iPod nano (rumored to debut on September 9th) and it's another thing to dream out loud with this stunningly realistic nano mock-up that offers the deepest feeling of extreme exhilaration. So deep... it feels like gas.

Miguel Suárez has brought a stunning 16GB black iPod nano to the forefront of his imagination, allowing us all to indulge. Even the trademark Apple click wheel is streamlined for viewing pleasure hinting at a touchable user interface. Could this be the one?

I'm predicting that Kevin Rose, after casting his gaze on this amazing little beauty, will video tape himself drooling in a poorly lit goth style setting using a staircase as his backdrop. I'll pay cash to the first person who forwards me that video.

"I Am Rich" Artwork To Go On Display In Hamburg Gallery Show

Separate sources have reported that an art gallery in Hamburg, Germany known for showing erotic art, has paved the way for the "I Am Rich" digital art by creator Armin Heinrich, to go on public display. One source indicated that a large print will be viewable daily to hundreds of curious art aficionados dumb founded by the fact that anyone would pay $1,000 dollars for such an absurd thing via iPhone.

The original $1,000 "I Am Rich" app did nothing more than display a glowing red jewel on the iPhone, which serious developers considered deplorable. The app was purchased by eight individuals living in the US and abroad before being pulled from the App Store by Apple without any notice.

Hamburg gallery owners are keen on promoting the bizarre story and controversy surrounding the "I Am Rich " artwork, confident that an encore showing of the banned App Store art will spark tremendous interest in Germany. Especially since the creator of the original art is himself German. Sources believe that an entrance fee will be charged to to view the artwork.

Digg Founder Creates Own Diggable Apple Rumors Because He Can

Apple rumors can amount to massive attention for any blog, a rule of thumb that even applies to Digg founder Kevin Rose. It's difficult for bloggers to resist the delicious temptation of spreading Apple rumors along with a "leaked photo" as the prize inside. A juicy Apple rumor posted on Digg can make your blogg instantly popular for a fleeting moment helping to cure most forms of boredom.

His recent set of rumors (with almost 3,000 Diggs) are not the first time Kevin Rose has speculated about Apple product releases and it won't be his last. He launched some nearly on target iPhone predictions back in December of 2006. Rose is a really smart guy, he's not going to kill a good thing just because people scoff at his predictions or wax on about his Apple rumors video being poorly lit. (looking more like a hostage video released by Al Qaeda).

Kevin Rose believes that the next 2-3 weeks will reveal a new thinner taller iPod nano with curved screen, a wildly exciting iTunes 8.0 among a handful of other quality predictions. I'm convinced that the Kevin Rose Blogg is the future of Apple rumors. He is the new MacRumors site minus the forum or accuracy, count on it.

I would only suggest that if Kevin is going to continue doing video, he should hook up with sassy "ego blogger" iJustine to make his productions more web friendly and less goth. iJustine has nailed the medium and mastered the art of the extreme close up. Justine even has a new branded iJustine tee shirt. Rose could benefit from some quality schwag like an "i am kevin rose" tee shirt or "drink kevin rose" coffee mug. People believe that people handing out free schwag are credible. Digg that! Don't hate, it's a fact people.
