If you haven't already heard that iPhone 2.0.1 software update has shown up in iTunes for download, then I guess you heard it here first. It's a beefy little download weighing in at 249MB.
This will allow you enough time to meditate on the news that Nullriver, the makers of NetShare, the killer app allowing users to share their iPhone's EDGE or 3G Internet connection via Wi-Fi with their computer, has posted an update to their website indicating they are finally in contact with Apple hoping for a NetShare return to the App Store. Many iPhone faithful are desperately waiting for the NetShare tethering application to reappear. It's wait and see for now.
Software update 2.0.1 applies to iPod touch devices as well. Apple has sited 'Bug Fixes' as the main purpose for the update. Connect iPhone/iPod and choose your device, click the "Summary" tab and click the "Check for Update" button. Noobs should follow the iTunes instructions and don't unplug your device until you're told that the update is complete.
This update does not work with the Dev Teams Pwnage tool just yet, so hackmeisters may want to sit this one out for now.

Good morning, I have downloaded the 2.0.1 update from a different computer (Mac) as the internet that I havemy iPhone 3G linked with has very slow net. I was wondering how to install the 2.0.1 onto my iPhone 3G on my PC, as I have ported it across via USB drive...
Could someone please help me?
Thanks in advance,
'Liv.
