If NetShare is not already loaded onto your iPhone, it's likely you won't be having a chance to do so anytime soon in the US, according to a report by Wired.com. NetShare is a $9.99 iPhone application that acts as a wireless modem for your laptop, anywhere iPhone has an EDGE or 3G signal. The process is commonly known as tethering. NetShare was briefly a part of Apple's App Store, then suddenly it vanished like in a classic UFO abduction, it reappeared momentarily and then it was gone again indefinitely. Tragic news for hairy backed tethering trolls.
Wired seems to finally be catching up to the news that use of any tethering application with iPhone in the US is strictly prohibited by AT&T, a basic fact the iPhone Savior reported back on August 1st, after speaking directly to an AT&T spokesman. Apple is also aware of that fact, because AT&T's terms of service are not exactly a shocking new revelation. There's the real problem with Nullriver's NetShare app and why it's return to Apple's App Store is highly unlikely in the U.S. going forward. Reports suggest an International release has not been counted out as yet.
I bought the NetShare app and I love it. I wrote about it because it
delivered on it's promise. It's a great iPhone tethering app for $9.99 if you can
get it. Right now you can't get it. So I strongly suggest building a
bridge across the Nullriver and getting over it.

Who needs the netshare app? Just follow the instructions at http://lifehacker.com/software/feature/use-your-iphones-internet-connection-on-your-laptop-327066.php on your jailbroken iPhone. Of course, if you had Windows Mobile instead of iPhone you'd have tethering abilities out of the box...but nobody likes things simple LOL!

This is insane. Why should I in Australia be subject to restrictions on software imposed by AT&T in the US?

have we found a way to bypass iTunes app installation w/o jailbreaking?
