After a mysterious set of photos appeared online in Europe
showcasing a 4GB iPod nano found on store shelves in the Netherlands,
speculation began to run wild until Register Hardware unearthed an official statement from Apple about the device.
"An Apple spokeswoman has confirmed to Register Hardware that it did make a limited number of 4GB iPod Nanos for some international markets”. Apple indicated that the 4GB model isn’t one of its “main configurations,” implying that the lower capacity model is designed to entice those on a lower income or anyone lacking a large music library.
Register Hardware reported that Apple would not confirm plans to release a 4GB fourth-generation iPod Nano in either the UK or US markets. Not yet at least. Pricing listed for the 4GB model nano were €120 (£95/$170 US). The 4GB iPod nano was spotted in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium with Canadian retailers claiming they will receive shipments of the device soon according to iPodNN. Would you want a 4GB nano if it cost less than $149?

No. Even 8GB is too small.
