BERLIN - I've often wondered what materials, color palettes or designs serve as inspiration for Apple as they continually refresh their product lines year after year. A graphic designer shooting random photos in Berlin, Germany stumbled on a bank of brightly colored lockers that look strangely familiar. When compared to the advert of Apple's Nano-Chromatic iPods, we found the similarity astounding. Our experts noted the find to be extremely close to an authentic doppelgänger without actually being one.
Is it possible that these lockers played a key role in the creation of Apple's new iPod nano? The color sequence is identical. Is it only coincidence that these same iPods are lined up in Apple store display windows like this bank of lockers in Berlin, just in time for back to school? We may never know for sure. I want to believe.
The truth is out there.

Ummm...I don't see anything particularly Machiavellian - or even astounding! - in the color sequence. Perhaps a bit of coincidence or even inspiration for the actual colors, but the sequence is no mystery whatsoever - as any first-grader could tell you.
It's the rainbow, with one extra shade added...plus Black & White.
Rainbow...pure and simple...nothing more.
Left to right:
Violet
Blue
Green
Yellow
Orange
Red
OK?

What appears in your photo as a man with his head stuck in one of a bank of polychromatic lockers, is, in fact, merely a weather balloon.
Or the planet Venus.
