MOSCOW - Reuters is reporting Russian retailers will start iPhone sales on October 3rd, estimating that 150,000 units could be sold by year end. Relief is finally on the way for cult of iPhone faithful in Russia.
iPhone 3G is ready to launch in up to 29 more countries with some reporting launch dates as early as this weekend according to AppleInsider. Apple’s “Coming Soon” page shows an official list of countries where iPhone is scheduled to launch by the end of 2008.
A photo depicting the launch of iPhone in Russia has surfaced (above) reported to be circulating among many popular Russian technology forums. Local frustration had been mounting awaiting news of an official iPhone launch date in Russia, considered to be one of the bigger markets on the list boasting 127 million mobile subscriptions as of 2007 ahead of Brazil with 120 million.
"If you don't have phone cell in Russia the choice is like so tragic for many Russian people," said Artem Ivanov "Sometimes it's good to shout out window of car while driving by house. You must talk faster and say a little less words." Wow! That's so bleak.
