This slickly redesigned iMac mock-up had me at hello. I've owned almost every iMac Apple produced since the original Bondi model released in 1998. One look at the ultra-sleek design by Miguel Suárez and I'm ready to plunk down a fresh hunk of cash for the new hotness. Though this redesign is merely cosmetic, I could'nt help making the comparison to another stunning IMAC, the G-IMAC (Canadair CL-600-2A12 Challenger 601) to be specific.
It's been a few years since Apple originally introduced the iMac G5 design which was back in 2004. They did a refresh adding faster speeds, more powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processors and the aluminum finish over a year ago, representing the first change from the stark white iMac. Is it time to pull the iMac from its pedestal and allow it finally stand on its own? Apple has my vote. Make it so Jony.

Aint this just a Visual display photoshoped upon the side of a Mac Pro?

What's all the tweaking about eye level? I've had two Macbook pros and now a Macbook air. None have ever been eye level. Not an issue. It's one tight ass design. I'm in... me wants.

In what way is this an improvement? It's no longer at eye level but sitting 6 inches too low on my desk. Instead of one small piece of aluminum on my desk, I've got two legs. I can't swivel the thing around easily any more because the entire width of it is sitting level with my desk. I can't adjust the angle to account for glare because there's no hinge. Different is not always better.

pedestal *ducks*
Seriously, one reason I think the iMac hasn't been significantly redesigned is the difficulty in getting the display to eye level without a pedistle.
