AUSTIN - It seems that new Apple store locations are popping up everywhere these days and the Lego City on display at the 2008 "Maker Faire" in Austin, Texas is no exception to Apple's retail expansion. The iconic Apple store is cleverly wedged between the Lego store on the left and the Alamo on the right, featuring a surprise visit from Mr. Freeze for the grand opening, parked out front in his Freeze-mobile.
Though it would be easy to focus on dinosaurs walking the street on the right, the Lego ships on the water or the fully functional Lego train, I could not help noticing one Dad pictured in the top left corner of the image (below) with eyes bugging out of his head. That commentary on this epic Lego City build really says it all. Wait until he gets an eyeful of the Apple store on the other side. Priceless!

Wow, you saw all kinds of stuff in those photos that I missed! The Lego city was built and displayed by http://www.texlug.org/. (I should have originally posted that with the photos.)
