A Russian website, RussianiPhone.ru is making extraordinary claims that they've actually seen iPhone 2.2.1 Beta 1 which includes the highly anticipated 'Push notifications along with over-the-air MobileMe syncing with Notes support.
This sketchy gang of iPhone fanatics have posted a homepage screenshot with both Notes and Calendar apps showing the addition of update badges. Since any ass hat can easily fake a screenshot, we decided to launch a sweet fakie of our own.
While it's possible that the Russians have obtained a super spy-copy of 2.2.1 through some back alley connection, it's highly improbable since Apple has not yet seeded the iPhone 2.2.1 Beta to developers. That said, the iPhone Hellas website predicted a November 21st release date for iPhone update 2.2 which turned out to be spot on.
RussianiPhone.ru has tapped into a juicy topic that's sure to get cult of iPhone fanatics chattering at an accelerated pace since Apple originally promised Push notification support in September. Steve Jobs reportedly responded to a customer email back in October saying; "We're running a bit late. We want to get it 100% right the first time." Referring to push notification in an October MacRumors post.
