Zune Phone Rumor Raises New Stink Around 'Pink'

It appears that Microsoft may be ready to evolve the Zune into a turd with a slide-out qwerty keyboard. Jim Goldman from CNBC has raised a fresh new stink surrounding a Microsoft Zune phone device covertly codenamed "Pink".

"I'm hearing from a good source that Microsoft is ready to give a major facelift to the company's Zune music player that could mean its evolution into a new smart phone from the company." said Goldman in his report.

Goldman goes on to sight Microsoft's purchase of Danger Inc., the makers of the Sidekick Flip phone as the catalyst for the renewed chatter of a smart phone coming out of the Microsofties campus. A rumor, that like zombies, refuses to die until you lop its head off. Sources point to a possible unveiling of a Pink prototype as early as the Consumer Electronics Show in January, with the threat of a potential February release, according to Goldman.

Applying lipstick to a pig or mechanical balls to a neutered bulldog doesn't exactly fill me with optimism. The Zune is a failed hack iPod on so many levels, most will admit it's fallen far from reaching commercial success. Superimposing a smart phone atop a steaming pile of 'fail' seems futile at this point.

Although, when you're getting your ass slapped as hard as Microsoft has been trying to reanimate Vista, late night beer goggles focused on Zune makes total sense. I'll reserve my predictions until after the Microsofties have barfed up the future of smart phones. If the rumors ever become reality. Maybe bumping fuglies with Zune for the past few years has made the Microsofties all the wiser.

true enough. But they somehow make tons of money off two of them: windows and office. When the current crop tof IT drones retires, so will their long-standing obsession with Windows, IMHO.
