UPDATED: The memorable FrostyPlace app introduced to thousands of bi-texual iPhone faithful via iJustine this past weekend was yanked from the App Store without warning. We reported earlier this week that iJ uncovered a gaggle of secret emoji icons hidden inside the Chinese RSS reader app. Within two hours after confirming it was gone, FrostyPlace mysteriously reappeared back in the App Store.
But fear not iPhoners, I've discovered a new tool in town. It's the $3.99 Touch Dial Emoji app from Javacom, delivering 461 system wide emoji icons to be exact. This app also offers a one touch dialing and SMS feature. But be warned those adorable emoji can only be displayed on the iPhone, other cell phones cannot see your icons. Anyone not using an epic iPhone will just see an icon turd remnant instead of mister happy face.
Touch Dial Emoji will make you fully armed with iPhone geekware capable of ghetto powering every text message you send. If you fail to get in on this new emoji gold rush using either app, we all thank you in advance. Emojiing is one nasty little habit that's harder to kick than nicotine sticks, but without the stank ashtray mouth. As they like to say at the Chinese buffet... enjoy.
To enable Touch Dial Emoji, follow these steps:
(1) Be Sure You're on iPhone firmware to 2.2 or 2.2.1
(2) Install Touch Dial Emoji version 1.2 from App Store [link]
(3) Go to Settings > Touch Dial > Enable Simley icon to ON
(4) Launch Touch Dial App
(5) Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards >Japanese and enable "Emoji"
UPDATE: Twitter users confirmed that FrostyPlace is once again in the App Store. Maybe not for long. Something really weird is going on. [link]
AWESOME! It works on the first try...I tried desperately to get FrostyPlace to unlock the option...but, I upgraded to 2.2.1 right when it dropped so I got left out of the party. But not anymore. Woot!

FrostyPlace 1.1.1 now up on AppStore states that it's 'most popular feature' wont work if you already have OS 2.2.1 installed. You must install the app, activate, then install 2.2.1. Hmmm... Apple released a block blocking this enhancement till they allow it?
