The fabled 'brown note' frequency or brown noise made legendary in an early 'South Park episode has finally made its way into the App Store for iPhone and iPod touch users. The $.99 app is called Brown Noise, generating 10 wickedly low rumbling tones designed to create an involuntary loss of bowels when heard by human ears. It's like 'Sound Grenade' for constipation.
According to urban legend, the specific tone rumored to create an instant loss of bowels is believed to be a low-end infrasound frequency 92 cent below the lowest octave of E-Flat. Some argue over the name, insisting that the correct term is 'Brownian noise', not named after the color of turds but in honor of Robert Brown, who is credited with discovering Brownian motion. Thanks for that correction wonder-nerds.
While this novelty app may or may not have the desired 'pants crapping' effect on a nameless rabble of unsuspecting victims, it will keep water cooler conversation quite lively. I unleashed "Brown Noise" on myself several times with headphones and without. I'm really not comfortable reporting my findings.
