During the Austin taping of Diggnation Podcast episode 194 'Live' from SXSW 2009, Kevin Rose launched a fresh set of rumors surrounding Apple's iPhone 3.0 software release. Rose who has been spot on before, confirmed that the long over due copy and paste feature for iPhone would become part of the 3.0 release.
Rose quickly qualified his sources as being accurate before announcing; "They told me that 3.0 brings iPhone up to speed with all of the Palm Pre stuff. So everything the Palm Pre thought they had on Apple has now gone away," Rose said.
"I asked about video, video is not coming in this release," Rose told the crowd who immediately booed his announcement.
Kevin Rose went on to cite a technical issue with the iPhone's NAND flash memory causing problems for the phone if it's updated too many times and too quickly. A concept difficult to believe since I've seen video work seamlessly on a jailbroken iPhone. We'll know for sure when Apple previews iPhone 3.0 software in Cupertino on Tuesday, March 17 starting at 10:00 am.
