It appears the wild rumors of Apple hosting their annual iPod event on (9-9-09) turned out to be spot on. Apple is expected to introduce their updated iPod touch and Nano devices which are both speculated to include a camera plus video capabilities for the Touch. While some rumors suggest the iPod Classic will be marked for extinction, others believe the Classic will also gain a point-and-shoot camera.
The September 9th date has also stirred up frantic hopes for the announcement of iTunes 9 rumored to include a new social-networking feature and playback support of Blu-ray discs. Since the 9th is also the release date set by EMI for the remastered Beatles catalog, wishful thinkers are focused on an announcement for Beatles being sold via iTunes.
It's seems odd that Apple would choose to use The Rolling Stones lyric "It's only rock n' roll, but we like it" as an intro to The Beatles debut on iTunes. Unless the company is actually planning to have the ancient Rolling Stones relics make a surprise live appearance for the introduction of iTunes 9. Talk about extinct!
Apple's "rock and roll" iPod event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, the same place where our tipster spotted Steve Jobs' Mercedes SL55 AMG parked on (9-8-08) prior to last year's "Let's Rock" iPod event.
This year's big damn deal is scheduled to start at 10:00 AM PST. As usual, our crack team of reporters will not be there because like most of you, we were not invited. Being anti-media D-bags does have its downside.
