AT&T has confirmed through an official Facebook page that their hillbilly launch of MMS capability for U.S. iPhone users will take place this
Friday as planned, but activation of the service will first require downloading an updated carrier profile via
iTunes before you can start enjoying the long overdue feature.
The updated profile is expected to become available by "late morning Pacific Time"—in other words, Friday afternoon for most people according to AT&T. The company promised that details will be posted to their Facebook page. Since carrier profiles (.ipcc) are typically only a few kilobytes, users shouldn't experience the kind of download interruptions that full iPhone OS updates can cause once the profile goes live.
"We are targeting early afternoon Eastern time," (late morning Pacific time) an AT&T spokesperson Seth Bloom told DSL Reports.
One Facebook commenter named Jonathan, shared his own steamy observation on the AT&T Facebook page, already anticipating life after the completion of his epic MMS iPhone update.
"Hopefully they come out with a blowjob feature on the iPhone because after MMS comes out, there's nothing left to wait for and that's the only feature its missing now."
It appears that Jonathan is extremely excited about receiving the MMS feature on his iPhone, expecting a huge let down after he finally reaches the climax of his download. A source speaking to DSLReports indicated that AT&T is "very nervous" about pleasuring millions of iPhone users as they randomly fire pictures and video at one another like throbbing love missiles immediately after the update.
The company is worried that the added strain could cause network congestion. AT&T expects traffic on their wireless network will be about 40% higher all day on Friday as iPhone users join in on the Multimedia Messaging Service parade. Another sarcastic Facebook commenter summed up the entire iPhone MMS shiterree quite nicely.
"It only took 3 years to do something every other phone can do... FINALLY! THANK YOU AT&T!!"
UPDATE: Enabling MMS on iPhone
Got my carrier update.
Still no MMS present however.

There's still one more feature that AT&T needs to give the iPhone... the ability to actually answer and hold onto calls. AT&T's dropped call/ no bars stats are embarrassing!

I wish we could tell AT&T that we'll pay our bill "late summer", then slowly pay the bill $10 at a time spread out over a day.
Honestly, it would only be fair.

yah, MMS is pointless, thats why Kuluku gave us all email. flash would be sweet, but the corresponding battery life would not.

Facebook user Johnathan apparently doesn't much care for flash, then. That's totally more important than MMS to me.
