Microsoft announced Monday that it has canceled its planned sponsorship of a variety show with the creator of the "Family Guy. Once Microsoftie executives got an eyeful of the Family Guy variety show set to air on November 8, featuring Alex Borstein and Seth MacFarlane, the company made a run for the nearest exit. I'm sure everyone close to the project wanted to shout "no duh" at the top of their weed filled lungs when they heard the news, but no one cared enough to harsh the mellow in the room.
Microsoft had grand fantasies about using "Family Guy", which is known for launching Helen Keller jokes, Holocaust jokes featuring Adolf Hitler and an opening musical number promoting legalized marijuana in the show, to tout the recent release of their Windows 7 operating system.
"We initially chose to participate in the Seth and Alex variety show based on the audience composition and creative humor of 'Family Guy,' but after reviewing an early version of the variety show it became clear that the content was not a fit with the Windows brand," a Microsoft representative said.
It was Microsoft's intention to experiment with an unconventional strategy in marketing Windows 7, but apparently the company never really watched Family Guy with any regularity. I'm certain the ass clown who birthed that turd of an idea is still being throat punched by Ballmer in the parking lot.
I would expect Seth MacFarlane has no intention of letting the Micro-nerds eleventh hour limpfest die quietly. Now it's your big chance to say, "No Duh!" The show has already secured a different, unnamed sponsor for the variety special.
The way to speak for all self-respecting actors of the world, Rick. I suppose that makes you one? The jokes may have gotten more grotesque over the years but what really sickens me is how Seth MacFarlane has just been selling out more and more ever since the creation of American Dad. Now an attempted partnership with Microsoft?

Who's the new sponsor, Apple? Does this post have anything to do with the iPhone? I read this blog for iPhone news.
