The name iTablet became the moniker used for Apple's mythical tablet device in the press quite awhile back, although MacRumors recently uncovered that "iSlate" was registered by Apple back in 2004. That report caused a landslide of domain hunters buying up iSlate URL's like gum balls.
Now MacRumors has started another domain gold rush by reporting that new evidence reveals "Apple may, in fact, be positioning "iPad" as the name for the imminent tablet device". This claim is based on some evidence that a dummy Apple corporation, Slate Computing, LLC was the same company that also applied for a trademark for "iPad" under the categories of handheld mobile digital electronic devices.
What is certain is that MacRumors founder Arnold Kim is making the domain vendors very happy with his multiple assertions on the name of Apple's tablet device. It's clear that with so much competition arising around a lucrative market for e-readers and tablet devices, Apple is covering all its bases with domain names and trademarks.
Here's the thing, Mad TV already brutally spoofed the name "iPad" back in 2006 with a hysterical sketch about Apple's new feminine hygiene product that offers protection for up to 1,000 periods. The iPad name is forever scarred. It's not exactly the brightest idea for Apple to go with iPad, at least not now. I still like iTablet myself.
So what will Apple call their larger tablet model, iPad Maxi?

In my view iPad is more sophisticated, iTablet don't sounds good..
Secondly it is also similar to existing Apple's products like iPod, iPhone, and now iPad.

It will be called the iPod Tablet and the iPhone Tablet.
Thus it will build on two existing brands already.

The name iTablet is too many syllables. I think iPad or iSlate is better, though iPad rolls off the tongue a bit better

Wonderful unearthing! If it were to be called iPad, they'd be spoofed again and again-- and this clip would rocket to the top of the charts!
