NEW YORK - While lovers and other strangers where all caught up in the typical Valentine's Day hoopla, New York's Meatpacking District was buzzing over the wildly popular "Icons" Pop Art exhibit that opened on February 14th.
Steve Jobs could be found hanging among the 15,000 square feet of art installations, placed side by side with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoftie Bill Gates and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey. Although Jobs looks totally annoyed with his bottom shelf placement.
Last year we featured an art installation piece we dubbed "The Holy Trinity of Computer Gods" that immortalized El Jobso wedged between Gates and Linux creator Linus Torvalds.
In this exhibit, the four tech luminaries look less like an epic expression of pop art and more like wanted posters compared to the work featuring Andy Warhol and Mr. Spock fitted with Madonna hair. But I can imagine that most of the artwork looks far more fulfilling up close and personal.
The exhibit presented by Mr. Brainwash, located at 415 W. 13th Street, runs until March 31st from 3PM to 10 PM daily. Photo and video cameras are welcome.
