Email confirmations from early adopters show proof that Apple has begun shipping Wi-Fi only iPad orders for delivery on April 3rd. Pre-orders placed for iPad devices on March 12th and 13th are already making passage to the homes of anxious Apple faithful. The official Apple store launch takes place on April 3, at 9:00 a.m.
The early ship date confirmations do not necessarily mean that customers will receive delivery of their magical and revolutionary iPads before April 3rd according to MacRumors.
"In the past, Apple has coordinated with UPS to hold early deliveries until launch day. The first Wi-Fi only iPads are to be delivered on April 3rd, 2010."

I have a feeling the iPad won't be nearly as big of a hit as the iPhones have been. But i'm interested to see how it plays out, and how many people end up getting one.
