Beginning on Tuesday, Wal-Mart will peal $100 off of Apple's wildly popular 16GB iPhone 3GS device, rolling back the price to just $97. The new deal will still require a two-year contract with AT&T, the iPhone's exclusive service provider. An idea that could be a tough sell for those desperately awaiting the launch of a new iPhone model next month.

Early on Monday reports started swirling that AT&T would no longer be receiving shipments of Apple's iPhone 3G model that has been sold for $99 until recently.
The new sale price on the most current 16GB iPhone model falls a few dollars short of analyst expectations of $99 for the remaining 3GS stock loitering on store shelves. The announcement comes as the U.S. heads into extended Memorial Day Weekend.
It's widely known that Apple intends to unveil their next-generation iPhone during Steve Jobs' keynote at the company's WWDC event taking place on June 7th.
"When consumers get sight of a new iPhone model on the horizon, sales of the existing model typically falls off sharply." CNN
I'd say if you don't have enough money yet to buy the latest version why not experience what others have with this new version in a cheaper price. Thanks for the update.
