When asked if Apple considered a recall, Jobs replied; "Nothing is off the table, but Apple is data-driven and wanted to understand what the real problem is."
Apple's (better late than never) case offer is being extended through September 30th, 2010. Those who've already purchased a Bumper case will be getting a refund.
"Let's give everyone a free case," Jobs said, "One for every iPhone 4, if you’ve bought one we’ll give you a refund, and we’ll keep this going through September 30th.”
Jobs did not specify if the Bumpers offer would be honored at AT&T locations or when refunds will start being processed. The Apple online store is your best bet for more information on this offer.
According to Jobs, alternative case models will be gifted by Apple when official Bumper case supplies dwindle. Although specific cases were not identified.
"We can’t make
enough bumpers. So what we’re going to do is source some other cases —
you’ll pick a case, and we’ll send it off to you.” Steve Jobs added.
According to the online store, Apple will offer a free iPhone 4 Bumper or other select cases to iPhone 4 customers. Details on how to order a free Bumper or case will be available soon on Apple.com.
The big news turned out to be "free bumper cases". Wow!
