Watch Jon Stewart Deconstruct Steve Jobs On The Daily Show

In grand Daily Show style, John Stewart unearths a few clever drive-by conclusions about Steve Jobs in his visit with biographer Walter Isaacson on Tuesday night. 

"A really interesting thing in the book is how often Steve Jobs crys," said John Stewart. "He is a weeper! Because in the book you get the sense at times from some of the people that the crying was also a manipulation."

Isaacson talked about how Steve Jobs connected emotion to technology and quickly defended the moments where Apple's co-founder would begin crying during his interview sessions, calling them "moments of artistic purity" rather than manipulative.

The big payoff comes when Isaacson casually compares the accomplishments of Bill Gates with that of Steve Jobs. I won't spoil the classic ending to this compelling 7:00 minutes of quality television.

'Steve Jobs' Bio Tops E-Book Charts Overnight

Although Nielsen is not expected to release official book sales figures for more than a week, "Steve Jobs" has rocketed to the No. 1 spot on the Kindle bestseller list, the Nook bestseller list and Apple's iBook store chart overnight.

The authorized biography penned by Walter Isaacson, debuted in book stores on Monday, both the hardcover and e-book versions are already sitting at the No. 1 spot on Amazon.com. According to industry analysts you can expect them to stay there for a long time to come.

"The way things are trending, it could very likely be our top-selling book of the year," Amazon spokeswoman Brittany Turner told Reuters.

"On average 50 percent of bestsellers are digital and in some cases that can go as high as 70 percent," said James McQuivey, an analyst at Forrester Research. "It's very likely for the next six months this book will outperform the physical version."

Reports revealed that it took Isaacson two years to write the book, as the biographer drew upon more than 40 exclusive interviews with Jobs including the final session which took place one week before his death on October 5.

"Another publishing source who did not want to be named due to the sensitivity of the topic believes the Jobs bio had pretty much been completed when Simon & Schuster announced the publication back in the spring." Reuters reports.

Isaacson, who was the former CNN chairman and managing editor of Time magazine, has been out on a whirlwind publicity tour, appearing on both CBS' "60 Minutes" and NPR's "Fresh Air."

Steve Jobs Appears On Toast, It's A Miracle!

I've been halfway hoping that the image of Steve Jobs would be spotted on a tree by some peasant in South America and make it to the front page of The National Enquirer. Instead it has shown up on a piece of toast in Canada. It's a miracle! And it's also for sale.

This heirloom grade hunk of original Steve Jobs toast is spray varnished so it will not mold. The inspired food artist is marketing his divine brainstorm by reminding us all that "Bill Gates doesn't have his own toast."

Happy Birthday iPod, You're All Grown Up Now

I heard that iPod was having a birthday so I baked it a cake. A decade ago, on October 23, 2001 Steve Jobs announced Apple's game changing iPod. The rest is history. Apple's portable music player with its signature scroll wheel was released on November 10, 2001. The device set in motion a digital music revolution that Apple still dominates today with over 16 billion songs downloaded from iTunes, and 300 million iPods sold.

The iPhone Savior team celebrated iPod's tenth anniversary in grand style by designing an official birthday cake along with a handful of mini brownies used to showcase a few iPod shuffle devices. Although most of the cake was decked out with hand-cut iPod art, I included my own 20GB 4th generation model at the front. I wasn't able to locate my original click wheel iPod in time for the photo shoot.

Our ridonkulous iPod cake design took over four hours to complete. The tort is white cake with a raspberry filling, frosted and then topped with white chocolate. The mini brownies are covered with dark chocolate then topped off with whipped cream. The end result was incredibly delicious.

In order to make this anniversary celebration even more over the top, I decided that singing happy birthday was in order. So I video taped the grand buffoonery using my new iPhone 4S as we all wept openly. Happy birthday iPod. You may be getting older, but you're still getting better with age.

Watch Jonathan Mann Sing A Duet With Siri

You may remember Jonathan Mann from "The iPhone 4 Antenna Song" he wrote telling us all; 'If You Don't Want An iPhone 4 Don't Buy It!'.

Now the Song A Day Guy is back with a deeply moving duet video performed with Siri, Apple's newest iPhone 4S personal assistant. The "iPhone 4S Song" just may be the greatest duet of our time.

Montreal Artist Uses Real Apples For Steve Jobs Land Art Tribute

 

Montreal visual artist Olivier Lefebvre, has created a stunning tribute to Steve Jobs using several boxes of real apples. Olivier keyed off of a Time Magazine cover of Steve Jobs for inspiration on his 22' X 15' piece that took over 3,500 apples to complete.

His piece was executed for a land art contest held in St-Hilaire Quebec Canada. A total of 10 artists from all over north America participated in the event.

It took Lefebvre roughly 40 to 50 hours amassing and placing his apples which included both Macintosh and Cortland varieties. He completed the work with a 2' x 2' grid and then free-styled the rest. I asked Olivier if he was a committed Machead.

"I use an iPhone," said Olivier. "But I would be grateful if Apple sent an iPad or Macbook Pro my way."

Lefebvre told iPhone Savior that his nature-made tribute art looks best when viewed through an iPad or iPhone camera because of its sheer size. Patrons used a tall orchard ladder to view the epic piece from above.

"I had submitted another concept a while back, but I changed it on Friday, October 7th after learning about Steve Jobs' passing," said Olivier. "The organizers and the city where generous enough to allow this last minute change. I wish to thank Jeremie Boudreault and Stephanie Chaumont for this."
