Excuse me hipster looking guy... is that a vinyl record strapped onto your iPhone? Indie Nashville label Third Man Records, has teamed up with Griffin Technology to create a fantastical new iPhone case tooled from authentic vinyl records.
The coolest part of this custom case collaboration is that the 7-inch single die-cut records are current releases from epic Third Man artists like The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather. The bumper-style, molded polycarbonate frame holds your vinyl record of choice into place. The end result is a novel idea that even includes the record grooves so you can fondle that nostalgic feeling of old rock n' roll anytime you choose.
This fresh spin on fashionable iPhone protection will cost you $29 for the case which comes equipped with one Third Man branded insert. Another $20 bucks will get you the artist specific 3 pack of inserts in red, white and black. Ouch!
I would prefer the singles 3 pack be neatly priced with my initial purchase or be given the choice of my fave artist when selecting a case. Forking over $50 for the full meal deal is bit of a thrill kill for me on this one. But then I'm not a modern hipster who pays way too much for indie vinyl records. But I'm willing to join the tribe if they'll have me.
