Everything old is new again with this nifty do-it-yourself paper iPhone dock designed to let anyone rock out with their dock out on a budget. It requires no mental gymnastics to print-and-fold since industrial designer Julien Madérou has gone to great lengths to do all the thinking for you. The inclusion of the docking cable in this design delivered a considerable amount of tingling in my nerdy parts.
The dock is easy to construct, it's sturdy, environmentally friendly and perfectly disposable. Madérou has provided a down-loadable PDF template priced at $5.00 for the extremely craft challenged like myself.
The "making of video" reveals the essential step-by-step build along with some of Julien's original drawings and prototype docks gathered together in mass. They looked a little like a discarded pile of robots awaiting meltdown. Great design doesn't have to be complicated or expensive.
Or save yourself the $5...
