A woman in Wisconsin is facing 31 felony counts including theft and forgery for the alleged sale of fake Facebook company stock. Marianne Oleson, 46, is being accused of three dozen charges after she had allegedly defrauded several unwitting investors out of huge amounts of money.
Even though official shares of Facebook stock is not expected to become publicly available for several more weeks, construction worker Randy Stafford, accepted $28,000 worth of fake Facebook stock as payment for work he completed on Oleson's house, according to the criminal complaint.
Before catching onto the scam, Stafford went back to Oleson and paid an additional $10,000 in cash to get even more shares of the fictional Facebook stock.
"According to the victim, she said that she had bought right around $1 million worth of Facebook stock," said Detective Jeff Bellin with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office. - Source FOX11
