iPhone theft has become a growing problem — especially in urban areas where there are large crowds of people paired with unsuspecting commuters and tourists.
Grabbing an iPhone has become the modern-day purse snatching with New York City police reporting that more than 40 percent of all robberies now involve cell phones. In fact, nearly half of all robberies in San Francisco this year are cell phone-related.
This video (below) captured on a subway train in Hungary, shows just how easy it is to snatch-and-grab an iPhone then make a stealthy getaway. Although you know what's coming in the video — this classic yank-and-run iTheft causes instant anxiety when the crime occurs.
Fortunately, someone on the train was video taping the creeper hanging by the doors — once the video became so popular after being posted online, the filthy rotten scoundrel was busted by police. But most of us would not be so lucky.
It pays to always be aware of your surroundings when out in public — the next yank-and-run iPhone snatching could happen to you.
