It's a brilliant coincidence that The Simpsons decided to spoof Apple's magical “MyPad” on the same weekend that the iPad dominated tablet shopping traffic with an 88.3 percent share. Say hello to the Mapple MyPad.
Mapple (Apple) co-founder Steve Mobs (Jobs) makes a few key appearances from beyond the grave in this iPad-centric episode that finds Homer addicted to the new tablet he won in raffle.
“The product you hold is like a giant expensive smartphone that can't call anyone — it's that incredible.” says Steve Mobs.
Mr. Mobs even threatens Homer with a lifetime of Hewlett-Packard products if he does not submit to Mapple's terms of use.
At one point the hysterical insider app jokes start coming rapid fire — there's even a scene where Homer is at the zoo ignoring Bart and Lisa in classic iPad addict style as he's trying to find the freshest Churros using the “Churro Chaser” app.
Although this is not the first Simpsons Apple parody — it definitely takes a close second to the epic Mapple Store episode.
