Walmart announced that it has begun selling iPhone 5 and the third-generation iPad at insanely discounted prices in over 3,000 Supercenter stores — but it may take some dumb luck to actually find one in stock nearby.
The big box retailer said it's selling the 16GB iPhone 5 for $127 (originally $189) along with a two-year contract from wireless carriers Verizon, AT&T and Sprint, reports Reuters.
Although Apple has a history of enforcing its premium pricing model on retailers carrying their devices — a Walmart spokeswoman confirmed that Apple arranged the discounted pricing. Which may mean that an iPhone 5S release is just around the corner.
"We worked together with them on this," the spokeswoman, Sarah Spencer, said. "They are a great partner."
Walmart is also selling the 16GB iPhone 4S at nearly half off — for just $47 along with the 16GB third-gen iPad retina display Wi-Fi version at $399 which amounts to roughly $100 bucks off. Those are amazing sale prices on both.
The catch is that these deals are available in-store only (not online) and also limited to the lower 16GB models — but the good news is that the offers will be available for 30 days according to Walmart.
If you're smart — you could walk into any Best Buy or Target store who have both vowed to honor price matching on these devices from competitors and put them to the test.
With that said, you should know Walmart is also tossing in an added bonus — a $30 iTunes card will be included with iPad purchases starting on December 17th.
So hurry up and wait... GO! No wait! Do you see how insane that is?
