Days after the release of iOS 9 angry iPhone faithful took to Twitter to vent their disappointment over the lack of the middle finger emoji expected to be part of the launch along with the taco, robot face, burrito and wildly popular Unicorn head to name only a few.
The new group of 150 Emoji icons will actually launch with Apple's iOS 9.1 update expected to land sometime in November — which is way too late for many who planned to start texting the middle finger shortly after they downloaded iOS 9.
Many are still in disbelief — freaking out over the missing middle finger emoji in #iOS9 as they continue to spew rage at Apple. The official emoji is actually called the "reversed hand with middle finger extended" according to the icon masters at Emojipedia.
No matter what you choose to call it — there's still going to be a whole pack of sad lions until Apple finally delivers the big "Eff You" on it's next iPhone update. For now you can view all of the iOS 9.1 emojicons below and dream of unicorns to come.
After years of languishing, Facebook has announced that an official 'Dislike Button' is finally on the way. CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed during a Q&A session Tuesday, that his company is preparing to launch a Dislike button aimed at expressing empathy — since “Not every moment is a good moment,” according to Zuckerberg.
“I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it,” Zuckerberg said.
“If you share something that's sad like a refugee crisis that touches you or a family member passes away, it may not be comfortable to like that post…I do think it's important to give people more options than liking it. We need to figure out the right way to do it so [the button] ends up being a force for good, not a force for bad.”
Although Mr. Zuckerberg did not announce a public launch date — this special day can be commemorated with a set of "I Like" shot glasses that enable offline users to throw back multiple shots of Fireball then quickly tip the glass over to celebrate the Dislike button becoming part of the Facebook family (very soon).
The company did reveal it will be testing out their new Dislike button with a small number of users 'soon'.
Until then...Bottoms up (thumbs down) ya'll!
Note: Deep feelings of empathy are delivered free with each consecutive shot.
[I Like Shots] — Using Dislike Button while intoxicated is strongly discouraged.
Colombian graphic artist Fulvio Obregon has offered up a unique glimpse of famous celebrities in his new collection of side-by-side illustrations entitled "Me & My Other Me".
The young and not so young Steve Jobs is ironically featured with a tee shirt pimping the transformation of regular H2O into iWater at a highly inflated price. Brilliant!
"Each character has some detail of what has been essentially along their respective career, life or profession." Obregon writes.
Other striking past and present character illustrations in this series include Paul McCartney and Bill Gates.
If I was a betting man I would put the big money on Apple's new "Rose Gold" finish selling out the fastest when preordering begins — not only because of its blushing Pink hued metal, but simply because it's the only new color unique to the 6S models. Although that's not the only reason Rose Gold will be the most popular kid on the block.
Rose Gold comes from mixing gold and copper together — a color that is having an unexpected revival in the designer jewelry world and it's big in China. So do not underestimate its powerful lure if you're planning to jump on the trend.
Silver, Space Grey and Gold complete the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus color palette — Space Grey is the only model that comes with a black face. The other models are designed with a white face to maintain that super clean appearance Appleloves to pimp.
For many iPhone case faithful, the face color is what you'll be staring at most of the time after you shove your new device into a magical sheath.
With Pre-Ordering for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus going live at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, Sept. 12 you can expect iPhone zombies to be fast on the draw until they all sell out. The devices are expected to ship out on September 25th.
If you're looking for an "all you need to know about iPhone 6S" article with all that preordering hype beyond just the fashionable colors — you can find it right here.
Apparently nothing sells out faster than a model's digitally "fixed" smile on an iPhone 6S case.
Just hours after Adobe's Eric Snowden took to the Apple event stage to show off the latest 'Photoshop fix' app — one smirking digital artist sold out over 4,000 iPhone 6S cases featuring the photo of the model with the fixed smile featured in the Adobe presentation.
"I'm not quite happy with the model's smile, I wish she had more of a smile to warm up the layout - and luckily we have an app for that," said Snowden.
A firestorm of criticism abruptly erupted on Twitter not long after Mr. Snowden manipulated a model's face with the new Fix App to turn up the corners of her mouth in order to make her smile ever so slightly.
That's when artist Elam Nikserof jumped into action — quickly launching an iPhone 6S case design he calls "Ruby Dead" featuring the model's digitally altered smile left firmly in place.
"I could not resist turning that awkward moment seen around the world into an iconic iPhone case," Elam Nikserof said. "It was perfect advertising for my Ruby Dead idea. I never expected I would be so overwhelmed with orders — I shut my site down almost as fast as I put it up just after some 4,000 units were sold in an hour."
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Adobe VP Scott Belsky took to Twitter to clarify that the "new facial recognition software was designed to be used to "fix" selfies, not models."
While men suggesting women improve their appearance by smiling is frowned upon by most, there's no shortage of custom iPhone cases on Society6 — encouraging women to smile it's "the best makeup any girl can wear" says one work of art.
Filling those orders for the $25 unplanned limited edition cases will take some time Nikserof told iPhone Savior, but he plans to get help since he has no shortage of up front funding to work with.
"I'm quite happy with the model's smile," said Nikserof. "No fix required — she's perfect just like she is."
It's time for the outdated, obsolete pencil to move over and make room for the newly designed Apple Pencil — a completely familiar but wildly different writing tool for just $99 dollars.
The Pencil by Apple — was unveiled by CEO Tim Cook during a press event Wednesday at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. The crowd in attendance was made up of mostly overfed bloggers and pasty-faced journalists who were ready to cheer for anything Apple presented, no matter if it was an overpriced Pencil, iSkillet or a simple bottle of revolutionary iWaterused to help them swallow the hype.
"You may never have seen Apple Pencil before, but you already know how to use it. From the first moment, it does what you expect." the company wrote on their website.
If I spend over $100 dollars after tax — I would expect my iPencil to draw me up an entire gourmet dinner— although most who attended the event were just hoping to stay awake long enough to sample Apple's Pencil for a few sweaty minutes worth of scribbling, sketching, annotating, and editing on an oversized iPad after the show.
A full charge on the Apple Pencil will get you 12 hours of creative freedom that is unmatched in the world of traditional pencils. Just don't call this cool thingy a stylus — because it's a pencil bro.
Innovative street artist Elam Nikserof understands the real power of the revolutionary Apple Pencil that "feels like a true writing instrument" without requiring all the wood, sharpening or even an eraser.
"After experiencing the over-the-top design and marketing that Apple did for this product, I'm convinced my creative abilities are going to grow beyond what I can even imagine right now," said Nikserof. "I can best define my work today as sloppy stencil stuff that's not well thought out at all, but Apple's pencil will change all that by delivering an extraordinary new level of precision — without any delivery charges.
The overtly sexy iPencil video, narrated by Apple's Chief design Officer Jony Ive, does a stellar job of creating authentic demand for owning Apple's Pencil even if you're unable to actually afford the $799 price tag of an iPad Pro device which was uniquely designed to use with their new Pencil.
"I just want to hold that slender tool in my hand for 12 hours straight and stroke it ever so gently," said Elam Nikserof about the Apple Pencil. "It's captivating to see a thing of such beauty — I can't wait to charge it up for the first time and then put in a perfectly lit display case until I can afford to buy an iPad Pro."
Apple's iPad Pro is expected to ship in November. But if I know Apple, they'll most likely launch the Pencil at the same time to ensure that the future of writing, scribbling and sketching goes forward for future generations to come. We'll soon see how right I am.
And much like that mail order bride you had shipped in from the Ukraine — the Apple Pencil is eerily designed to act the same way, "You hold it, but it doesn’t hold you back."
