CHILE - Carlos Baeza, a 29 year old committed iPhone fanatic from Chile lucked into a freebie iPhone 3G by being first to register on the Claro mobile website for iPhone back on June 9th. When he received a call two days before the August 22nd launch to inform him of his "gift without purchase" he could not believe it... literally.
"At the outset I thought that it was a telephone swindle. But later I realized it was true. I could not believe it." said Baeza
Carlos soaked up his fifteen minutes of fame by graciously mugging for
media cameras, a brilliant decision that landed him on the front cover
of two local papers. Totally epic! Unfortunately he had to share the
front cover of one paper with a constipated looking actress and some
creepy guy playing grab ass behind her. This made Carlos' glorious
fifteen minutes of fame appear cheap and tawdry.
Mr. Baezas' personal triumph proves that iPhone fanatics (fanáticos) come in every nationality. Now can someone please explain to me why this noob is biting his friggin iPhone? The cannibal cult of iPhone appears to be thriving in Chile.
